Tattooist Review
I saw this movie some time ago and forgot to review it….oops. I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It had just the right mixture of of horror and storyline. The story was a bit hard to follow since it revolved around the Samoan culture and practice of tattooing but it was very interesting. Jason Behr plays Jake Sawyer, an American tattoo artist who is also a global wanderer who explores ethnic themes in his designs. He specializes in tattoos that supposedly heal or cure ailments and illnesses. While he does not believe a tattoo has this ability it is his niche and his bread and butter. While he is in New Zealand he unknowingly plays a role in releasing a deadly spirit as he attempts to learn tatau, the Samoan tradition of tattooing.
The spirit begins killing all those that Jake tattoos and when he discovers the link he and his new Samoan girlfriend (who he tattooed) race against time to find out what the spirit wants and how to lay it to rest.
Jason Behr looks gorgeous in the movie of course…very muscular, lots of fake tattoos. He has come a long way since Roswell but even so I can’t help but see “Max” in some of his facial expressions and it feels like meeting a long lost friend. All would be well in life if they would only do a Roswell reunion show!
Anyway…if you like horror flicks you may like this one. If you like eye candy then you will definitely like this one.
